"The Great Autumn Blizzard of
'03" started late Friday evening (December 5-- over two weeks
before the official start of winter) and raged until late Sunday,
December 7, dropping over two feet of snow on us here in eastern
Massachusetts. |
|
Gale force winds gusted to 60
knots and higher.

|
All things considered, "Chip
Ahoy" fared relatively well in about the worst we can expect in any
given winter storm -- even if it's still fall. I knocked off the excess
snow after I took these photos. |

It's days like this that I again
wonder just what I'm doing back up here! |
|
What a contrast from our
cruise down
to the Florida Keys, where I lived from 1979-1984. I took this shot of
our "Idle Hours II" in February of '79 in a Marathon channel just off Boot
Key -- after living through "The Great Blizzard of '78" up
here produced my vow, "Never Again!" |
What am I doing up here -- I know better ?!?
It's never-ending ... and
the best times have ended again for now! |
