It just keeps coming; apparently this
is going to become one for the record books. Already we've had more
snowfall for this early into the winter.
It seems like at least one storm a
week this season, and here's the latest. I barely have enough time
between them to clear out the paths again.
While this one amounted to 'only' an
additional 8"-12", it's really beginning to pile up -- one of those
winters when it's getting difficult to find somewhere to pile it. The
plows are certainly having difficulty, and that mountain out front is
getting not only higher but expanding further out into the lot.

By day's end I had most of the paths
cleared, again. |

By day's end the Sears snowblower had
died, again -- sort of right on it's schedule with the job not quite
done yet. |

Oh well, the day's over, the stove is blazing, the wood
rack is full, and Gilly-the-Cat is comfortable. (Jan. 21, 2011) |

The next morning -- with the Sears
repair service -- with my annual contract -- unable to appear until Feb.
10, I pulled out my toolbox. |
It took a lot of melting with a heat gun to find the
broken shear pin on the snowblower's impeller. I replaced it with a
stainless steel bolt I found in my boat stuff, was back in business. |
Chip Ahoy is still hanging in there with a few
brush-offs. |
The skeleton frame and tarps are doing as they should, as
expected. |

Just getting out to the boat these days
to rake off the snow has become
difficult, wading through knee-deep snow. |
Barbara out there all bundled up, "playing in
the show," she calls it -- cleaning off her vehicle. The temperature is
down into the low-teens and going lower for the next few days --
"record-breaking" again -- before the next storm is due on Tuesday
through Thursday. (Jan. 22, 2011) |
