Next, I've got to cut off the old and
near-worthless (welded-on) trailer jack and replace it. (Oct. 8, 2005) |
|
Up at his shop yesterday, my buddy Brad and I burned off the old trailer
jack where it was welded to the tongue and replaced it with a new jack.
The trailer is now ready to haul-out Chip Ahoy for the season, if the
rain ever stops. (Oct. 11, 2005) |
|
I had U-Haul attach a new trailer hitch to my "new" '99
Chevy Blazer. I'm getting ready to move "Chip Ahoy" from the side of the
house for the season and uncover it. (March 15, 2006) |
|
The ultimate solution was a new (2003) Load Rite trailer.
In the spring of 2007 I bought Wally Riddle's "Carpe Diem" -- boat,
outboard, and trailer -- for $2,500 (what I paid for Chip Ahoy in 2003, but
Carpe Diem was in far better condition; newer with many more upgrades).
I sold Carpe Diem on my old trailer (above) for $2,500 so got the Load
Rite for nothing. Wally had added his
keel centering bracket to his trailer a year or two earlier,
subsequent to this photo. |
