Sep. 30, 2010 -- I just home from that
"extended" overnighter to Rockport, but this morning I went back out to
Chip Ahoy and "battened down the hatches" for the approaching "Nicole,"
whatever this turns into. Her approach felt ominous.
I checked the jib sheets, added another mooring line for
backup, wrapped a bungie cord around the roller furler to prevent
unfurling, removed the radar reflector then wrapped the sail cover with
a length of rope, tied off the sliding hatch to the traveler bar,
then duct taped the cribboards, to keep out rain. Chip Ahoy is as good
to go as possible, come whatever. |
